HERITAGE โ€” MADE IN KOREA, CERTIFIED IN KOREA

For 60 years, Korea's
organic skincare
answer was Europe's.

This one is Korea's own โ€” formulated and manufactured entirely inside the country, and certified 23% organic to the European COSMOS ORGANIC standard, by a plant that spent the same six decades building the capability to make that possible.

Organic-cosmetic standards were written in Germany and France before Korea's cosmetics industry had reason to care. For decades, "certified organic" on a Korean shelf usually meant an imported label.

Made in Korea

Iljin Cosmetics spent that same stretch โ€” 64 years โ€” building the raw-material science and the emulsion stability an organic formula needs. Lesstopy Ato Cream is formulated and manufactured entirely inside Korea, and certified 23% organic to the European COSMOS ORGANIC standard as a finished product.

How The Gap Closed

The record behind the headline above โ€” how a Korean manufacturer spent six decades building the domestic capability that used to require an import label.

1951

Germany writes the first rulebook

BDIH, the German association that later co-founded the COSMOS Organic standard, sets some of the earliest formal guidelines for organic and natural cosmetics. For decades this discipline stays largely European.

1962

Iljin Chemical Industrial Co. is founded

Long before "organic" entered the vocabulary of most Korean skincare brands, Iljin begins building the formulation expertise โ€” preservation, emulsion stability, sourcing โ€” organic manufacturing would eventually demand of everyone.

2000

A research institute, not a marketing team

Iljin establishes its nationally accredited Central Research Institute โ€” dedicated teams for raw-material research and inter-ingredient synergy, the unglamorous science an organic formula depends on.

2025

The product clears the standard

Lesstopy Ato Cream is certified COSMOS ORGANIC โ€” as a finished product, at 23% organic content, verified by KTR. It's manufactured at Iljin's Siheung facility, which independently holds CGMP, ISO 22716, ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 in its own name.

TECHNOLOGY

Why Most "Organic" Creams Fail

Removing synthetic ingredients removes the tools that make a conventional cream stable. This is the checklist a formulator has to clear โ€” every one of these is a place organic products typically fail.

THE PROBLEM LESSTOPY WAS BUILT FOR

Organic creams aren't gentle because they have too much organic โ€” not too little.

To label a cosmetic organic in the US, a formula has to hit 70% organic content. Raising that number means removing the things that hold a formula up โ€” preservation, emulsification, stabilizers. It's why the organic aisle is full of product that sits heavy, turns grainy, or stings reactive skin.

COSMOS works differently โ€” it governs the whole chain, not one number. At least 95% of agro-ingredients must be organic, and every remaining ingredient has to come from an approved list. Lesstopy's 23% isn't a shortfall. It's the room left for the product to work.

01

Preservation, without the easy answer

No parabens, no phenoxyethanol. A cream loaded with botanical extracts is, chemically, microbial food โ€” it has to survive on natural preservation alone.

02

An emulsion that holds on its own

Without synthetic emulsifiers, oil and water are held together by natural ones โ€” which separate and crystallize far more readily across time and temperature.

03

Nature doesn't arrive at constant purity

Synthetic actives are consistent by design. Crops aren't โ€” composition shifts by harvest and origin. Holding color, odor and viscosity in spec takes decades of sourcing history.

04

Nowhere to hide a flaw

No fragrance, no colorant to mask an inconsistent batch. Every variance in the raw material reaches the skin, every single time.

05

Certified as a product, not an ingredient list

COSMOS Organic certifies Lesstopy Ato Cream as a finished product โ€” not a formula that merely contains a few organic ingredients. A percentage-only standard says nothing about the rest of the formula; plenty of brands say they use organic ingredients, far fewer hold finished-product certification.
